Lagoon life..
August 17, 2006 on 6:03 pm | In aquaria | Leave a CommentHere’s a little catchup from the summer:
Tank as it was in June before the move.
Halodule wrightii flower, most likely male.
Speaking of life in the lagoon, over the last four days while training/playing I have seen: southern stingray, urchins, seahorses, pipefish, alligators, green heron, blue heron, spoonbills, ibis, manatees and manatee babies, and at least three pods of dolphin. This excludes the usual horseshoe crabs, shrimps of all sorts, blue crabs, anchovy, killies, mollies and others. And to think, some people say its just a big stinky mucky river. Sheesh.
You have to get up close to appreciate an estuary this diverse.
