Resolves & Discardia

Have you made any resolutions for the New Year? Me? I plan to adopt a few little make-my-world-potentially-better habits:
* Attend more of the Scribbles workshops downtown for writing
* Make it to the Farmers Market in Lake Eola to find some local produce instead of buying all this stuff that’s traveled an average way-too-many miles to get to my mouth
* Grow veggies and herbs on my patio - maybe even attempt some tomato!
* Be less obsessive .. if at all possible
* Actually take my canvas bags to stores and use them in place of the plastic ones!
I think that’s puh-lenty to try to follow through with! As I like to remind myself, if you’re going to dream, you might as well dream big!
In the spirit of the New Year and the looming spring cleaning season, you might find the notes at Discardia pretty interesting. I sure do. I like this approach to trying to live a life that is not cluttered with physical reminders of past memories and future hopes and desires. Its just not healthy to live with so much stufffffffffff! Can’t be. If for no other reason than they collect yucky dust that causes allergies.
I really enjoy the process that Discardia presents as a means of rationally and spiritually sorting through the fluff to get to the basis of what we need, what we want, what we have, and what’s truly necessary in life.
Of course, practically anything having to do with cleaning appeals to me, as many of you well know.
